Alex Von Furstenberg: A Wealthy Man For a Cause

People often equate wealth with greed. Wealthy people can either ignore this presupposition or do something to change it like giving back the favor to the ones who need it the most. Alex von Furstenberg is one of the few rich people who do this and, as such, he deserves to be tagged wealthy man for a cause. He is actually an Austrian royalty who is presently living in the sunny area of Malibu, California. He is actually a prince in title but is presently not using it. He was raised in New York by a royal couple, Diane von Furstenberg and Prince Egon of Furstenberg whose forefathers include Count Unruoch whose lineage is connected with the great Napoleon Bonaparte. With this, Alex obviously comes from an old rich and honorable family.

At present, Alex von Furstenberg is not only known because of his family background. Most of all, he is well known for his success in business. He is currently the Chief Investment Officer of Ranger Global Advisors, LLC. It’s a family-owned business that ventures aggressively on value based investing. It is in this field that this prince businessman is honored and envied.

Despite the wealth, honor and fame, Alex von Furstenberg believes in the principle of “charity first before business”. This is where his money is mostly spent. Every now and then, he always extends his hand to the ones who deserve the help he can give. In fact, last year, Alex together with his family foundation called The Diller has granted an amount of $10,000 to a non-profit school called, American Tall Ship Institute (ATSI) based in Oxnard, California.

This school caters to the youth with ages ranging from 9-18. ATSI has an aim to encourage the youth to give positive contributions to the community be exposing them to an environment-cantered curriculum. In other words, they are using various teaching techniques to connect the environment situation to the role of the people to nurture and safeguard it specially the youth sector. Also, in order to make their programs realistic, ATSI is coordinating with local youth organizations and the academe. This is just one of the environmentally inclined schools that Alex von Furstenberg is supporting. The donations will not go in vain because if it is for a cause, the return of investment is not only for few groups of people but it is actually for all and for mother earth. Indeed, this Austrian royalty is a wealthy man for a cause. He is a true philanthropist in action.
